This class explores the wonders of the sky and beyond, encouraging curiosity and discovery about astronomy. Each month focuses on a specific theme, blending hands-on activities, experiments, and storytelling to deepen students’ understanding of the sky and space.
This is an exciting and interactive class designed to ignite curiosity about the universe. This course brings the wonders of the night sky to life, introducing learners to stars, planets, moons, and other celestial phenomena.
Through engaging, hands-on activities, students will build their own constellations, create models of the solar system, and explore the phases of the moon. Using tools like star charts, telescopes, and planetarium apps, they’ll learn to identify key constellations, planets, and other objects visible in the night sky. The class also dives into fascinating topics like how astronauts explore space, why the seasons change, and how ancient cultures used the stars to navigate and tell stories. Students will conduct fun experiments, like simulating craters with flour and marbles or creating their own sundials to track time.
By the end of the course, students will develop a deep appreciation for the cosmos and the role Earth plays within it. They’ll leave with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to continue exploring the mysteries of the universe both in the classroom and beyond.
