Step through the wardrobe and discover a world filled with deep magic, brave heroes, and powerful truths. In this yearlong literature course, students will read all seven books of The Chronicles of Narnia, immersing themselves in C. S. Lewis’s richly imagined world and the Christian themes woven throughout his stories.
As we journey from the creation of Narnia to its final restoration, students will explore themes of sacrifice, redemption, forgiveness, calling, and courage—recognizing how Lewis uses fantasy to point toward deeper spiritual realities. Class discussions will highlight literary analysis, vocabulary, biblical parallels, the nature of good and evil, and the ways characters model (or fail to model) virtue and faith.
Alongside our reading, students will engage in creative, hands-on activities that bring Narnia to life, such as creating maps and illustrations, completing character sketches and journals, and even trying food related to the books. (Why does Edmund love Turkish Delight so much?)
By the end of the course, students will have journeyed through the entire Narnian world while gaining a stronger foundation in both literature and faith.
