Description: In this engaging and hands-on upper elementary and middle school class, students will delve into the rich traditions of handicrafts, art, and music through the Charlotte Mason approach. Inspired by the philosophy of fostering creativity and cultivating an appreciation for beauty, the course will introduce students to various handicrafts such as basket weaving, tin punch, and textile arts, encouraging them to create functional and artistic pieces. Simultaneously, students will explore the lives and works of renowned artists; Norman Rockwell, Georges Seurat and Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and composers; Leonard Bernstein, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Antonio Vivaldi, studying their contributions to the world while engaging in projects that allow for personal expression and skill development. This class is designed to inspire a lifelong love of art and craftsmanship, empowering students to express themselves through multiple mediums.
