In English 1 students will gain skills in reading and writing about literature through short stories and epic tales. Students will learn how to read a text analytically, both fiction and nonfiction. The focus will be on learning to write essays and reading fantastic literature.

This is an ideal class for students who need to hone their basic essay-writing skills.

Homework: Students will have reading, writing, and grammar assignments every week, and should expect to spend 1-3 hours a week on homework outside of class.
